  1. SBF2026.11.05.12026-11-05

SBF 2026.11.05.1: Nothing Up Our Sleeves

The minimap button has a face again.

A player sent in a bug report with a screenshot of an empty circle where the SBF button should be. Their minimap button addon had politely asked us to stop hand-building our own button. Fair. Our button's "icon" was the word SBF written on a dark circle, and button collectors only keep a real picture, so they kept nothing.

SBF now uses the standard minimap button library that everyone else uses, with a proper SBF badge: the letters, back where they belong, in brass on a real picture this time. It shows up in button collectors and minimap skins, and it shows up as a launcher in data broker bars too. Your button stays where you dragged it, and "Hide the minimap button" still works. The goblins were told that words typed on a button are not an icon. They painted the words onto a picture and called it a loophole. We allowed it.

Forever: the bobber is in reach now.

On WoW: Forever the interact key used to give up on far casts, so SBF had a whole kit for it: an "out of reach" alert and sound, a recast mode, a point-at-it-with-your-mouse mode, a camera tip and a saved fishing camera. With Forever live, the key reaches your bobber once SBF stretches its range, so all of that is gone on Forever:

    • No more "Bobber out of reach" messages or sounds.
    • The Bobber reach section is gone from Settings.
    • A saved fishing camera from the beta isn't switched to anymore. Your camera is all yours.

SBF still stretches your interact range while you fish and puts your own setting back when you stop. That part is always on now, with nothing to set. If you turned it off during the beta, it's back on, because that's the bit that does the reaching.

The goblins kept the old kit in a crate out back, just in case. If a Thursday patch ever shortens the key again, type /sbf reach classic and the out-of-reach handling and its settings come back. /sbf reach forever puts them back in the crate.

    Small fixes.

    • /sbf reach on Forever tells you the range SBF uses. /sbf reachmode and /sbf reachview tell you they aren't needed there, instead of changing a setting that does nothing.
    • On retail, /sbf reachview tells you the fishing camera is a Classic option.
    • The "Out of reach" tooltip on the Stats tab only sends you to Settings when there's a Bobber reach section to find.
  2. HAUL2026.10.19.12026-10-20

A small fix for WoW: Forever.

    • Fixed: getting stuck on an empty corpse. Forever now opens a loot window even when a corpse has nothing on it. With Ultra fast loot on, that empty window stayed open out of sight and kept your character in the looting state until you moved. Haul now closes an empty window by itself.

Tip for WoW: Forever: install Auctionator for auction prices. Without an auction addon, Haul can only value your loot at vendor prices, which makes most hauls look a lot sadder than they are. Install the Forever version of Auctionator, run a scan at the Auction House so it knows current prices, then pick Auctionator under Price source in Haul's settings. If Auctionator was already installed the first time you ran Haul, it's picked for you.

Nothing else changes. Tracking, pricing and sessions work exactly as before.

  3. SBF2026.10.20.12026-10-20

    SBF 2026.10.20.1: The Pet Project

    Your pet gets a say.

Hunters and warlocks, this one's yours. Settings has a new Pet section, saved per character, so your demon's orders don't follow your mage around. Everything in it starts off.

    • Pet stance while fishing. Pick Passive, Defensive, Assist or Aggressive (whichever your game has). When you press your fishing key out of combat and your pet is on some other stance, SBF puts it back. It finds the stance on your pet bar wherever you keep it, because the goblins know you rearranged it. SBF doesn't change the stance back when you stop fishing.
    • Fight when my pet is fighting. If your pet is attacking something and you aren't in combat yet, your fishing key sends your Combat action instead of casting. Needs something in the Combat slot.
    • Target what my pet is attacking first. When the key fights for your pet, it targets your pet's enemy first. If you already have a hostile target, it keeps yours. Untick it if your own combat macro picks its target.

A player on Forever asked for this one, and the goblins were glad to help. The pets were less glad. They liked standing there.

    Your fishing key fights back.

Something jumps you while your line is in the water? Your fishing key now reels in its ambitions, drops the line and fights for the rest of the fight, the same as retail. Before, the key stayed stuck on looting until the fight was over, and your character just stood there holding a pole at the problem. Rather keep the key on looting, in case a fish bites mid-brawl? Untick "Fight instead of looting when combat starts" under Settings, Fishing behavior. Needs something in the Combat slot, which every character has unless you cleared it.

    Hunters shoot now (Forever).

On Forever the default Combat action used to be melee auto-attack only, which is a bold choice for someone holding a bow. Hunters on the default now get both: you swing when something is in your face, and Auto Shot fires when it isn't. Up close you may see a "Target too close" message from the shot line. It's harmless, and the goblins are working on their people skills. One press is enough; Auto Shot keeps going on its own. Existing characters move over on their own, and a combat macro you dragged in yourself is left alone.

Our advice: bring your own combat macro (Forever).

Forever has no Single-Button Assistant, so SBF's default combat action can only auto-attack. That's fine for scaring off a rabbit and not much else. Anything with teeth will win. If you fish anywhere dangerous, make a WoW macro with your class's real attacks and drag it into the Combat (attack) slot. SBF runs it whenever you're in combat, from the same fishing key. One example, from a low-level hunter:

    /startattack
    /cast Raptor Strike
/castsequence reset=target/combat Serpent Sting, Concussive Shot, Arcane Shot, Arcane Shot

Raptor Strike lands when something is in your face, and the shots fire when it isn't. Warlocks, swap in your own spells. Your demon will appreciate the help.

Empty corpses stop holding you hostage (Forever).

Forever now opens a loot window even when a corpse has nothing on it. With Ultra fast loot on, that empty window stayed open where you couldn't see it, and your character stood there "looting" until you walked away. SBF now closes an empty window by itself.

    Small fixes.

    • The Buffs and Boat slots now take a spell when you click the slot while holding it, not only by dragging.
    • On Forever, a fight that started soon after you stopped fishing could throw up "Interface action failed because of an AddOn". SBF now waits for the fight to end before it puts your interact range back.
    • The slot tooltips say what each slot actually takes. The Buffs one used to promise macros. It lied. We had words with it.
  4. SBF2026.10.09.42026-10-10

SBF 2026.10.09.4: The Wardrobe Malfunction Patch

    Your pants come back now.

On WoW: Forever, going back to your normal gear used to be more of a suggestion. SBF would ask the game to dress you, the game would get distracted halfway through, and you'd walk off the dock in waders and one boot. Now SBF checks that every piece actually made it back and keeps at it until you're dressed. A weapon you sold, banked or mailed to an alt in a fit of optimism no longer holds up the rest of your outfit, and anything that truly can't come back gets named in chat, so you know who to blame. Retail gets the same follow-through.

    Taking things off counts too.

Some fishing sets don't add anything, they just take your gloves off so you can feel the line. Very professional. On Forever, SBF never noticed a slot your set saves as empty, decided the set was already on, and went fishing with gloves on. Fixed. Slots saved empty get emptied into your regular bags, ignored slots get ignored, and nothing gets jammed into your herb bag. A goblin tried. The herbs objected. If your bags are full, that piece just stays on.

The pole box listens to your gear set (Forever).

If your fishing set has a pole in it, an empty Fishing pole box picks it up, even if you cleared the box earlier. Your gear set is the boss here. A pole you're already holding counts as yours. Want to fish without that pole? Take it out of the set, or set its main hand to ignored. If the set names a pole you don't have, SBF says which one. On retail nothing changed: clear the box and it stays clear.

    No pole, no cast (Forever).

Pressing your fishing key with no pole in your hands and nothing set up to put one on used to cast straight into the game's own "you need a fishing pole" error. Now SBF stops first and tells you how to fix it: a popup the first time (with a button straight to the Profile page), then a short line on screen after that. Drag a pole into the Fishing pole box, or give the profile a gear set with a pole in it. Your combat action still swings if something jumps you. A custom Cast Fishing macro is left alone, and you can switch the warning off under Settings, Fishing behavior.

SBF asks before your work walks off.

Close the SBF window with unsaved changes and SBF now taps you on the shoulder: Save, Discard, or Keep editing. Reopening the window counts as Keep editing. A /reload no longer quietly throws away the pole or gear set you just picked (another character logging in still gets their own saved gear). And the "you changed zones with unsaved changes" prompt no longer eats your edits when it pops up a second time. Settings has an off switch, for goblins who like living dangerously.

One switch to hush the bobber alert.

jesk__2115 asked us to make the "bobber out of reach" message go away, and the goblins don't argue with paying customers. Or with nonpaying ones, honestly. The Out of reach checkbox now silences the message along with the sound. Want the message without the noise? Pick "No sound (message only)".

Cast Fishing has a safety catch.

Turning off the Cast Fishing button now takes a Shift+click on its name. One stray click used to turn your fishing key into a punching key, and we lost an embarrassing afternoon finding that out. Turning it back on is still one click.

Two new keys for the impatient.

jesk__2115 told us the idle timer took too long to take the fishing gear off. The idle timer was five seconds. We timed it twice, because we couldn't believe it either. Five seconds is apparently an eternity when you're standing around in waders, so "Restore normal gear" now has its own key: press it and your real weapon is back right now. While we were in there we added "Equip profile gear" too, for suiting up before you even look at the water. Both are on the Keybinds page. On Forever the Equip key finishes the job over a moment or two: pole first, then the rest. Your fishing and loot keys always stay fishing and loot, so a gear key can't take one over.

    One flash, not two.

On Forever, putting your fishing gear on flashed your profile's name twice: once for the pole, once for the rest of the set. You only needed telling once. Now the flash waits for the set, same as retail.

    Hands off the camera.

The automatic zoom-out on Forever is gone, and so is "Point the camera straight ahead". Players told us a camera that moves on its own every cast is more annoying than helpful, and they were right. SBF no longer touches your camera unless you ask it to. If you want a fishing camera, set it up the way you like, then go to Settings, Bobber reach, and click Save current camera. Tick "Use my saved camera when I start fishing" and SBF switches to it once when you start fishing, then leaves it alone. Pick which of WoW's saved camera views it uses (2 to 5), in case another addon already has one. Tip: the interact key only grabs a bobber your camera can see, so look out over the water, not at your boots.

  5. SBF2026.09.30.42026-09-30

    SBF goes Forever.

The goblins heard Blizzard was reopening the old world, so they packed a tackle box, a crate of explosives, and a very long pole, and got there before the paint dried. SBF now runs on World of Warcraft: Forever. Same one button, same lazy fishing, older rules.

Your pole goes where Forever wants it.

In Forever a fishing pole is a two-handed weapon that lives in your main hand, and there is no profession tool slot. SBF knows. Drop your pole into the Fishing pole box on the Profile page, press your fishing key, and that pole goes in. Stop fishing and your real weapon and off-hand come back, no questions asked. Equipment sets work too: SBF slides the pole on first, then finishes your fishing set on the next press, so nothing gets dropped halfway through a swap.

    Catches count as catches.

Forever uses the classic Fishing spell and SBF recognizes it. Every fish lands in your log and stats as a proper catch, not a mystery crate. Your fishing skill shows up at the top of the window and on the Skill Book tab again, which now lists your one Fishing skill the way Forever tracks it.

    Bobber reach: we fail fast.

Here is the honest part. In Forever, some casts land farther out than your interact key can grab. While you fish, SBF stretches your interact key's reach, and it can nudge your camera out a little if you're zoomed in close (you can turn that off). Both go back to normal when you stop. Past that, our engineers spent a regrettable amount of blasting powder on cleverer tricks, and every one was a little less reliable than the last. So we stopped fighting the game and started working with it.

SBF fails fast. When a bobber lands out of reach, SBF notices within about a second, plays an optional alert sound, and turns your very next press into a fresh cast. No staring at a bobber you can't reel. No waiting out a dead cast. Press, recast, keep fishing.

For now, about 3 casts in 10 land out of reach on average. That number will move as we learn more, and we'll tell you when it does. Quick tip: the interact key can only grab a bobber your camera can see, so look out over the water rather than at your boots. Find it all under Settings, Bobber reach.

    Stats that play fair.

Out-of-reach casts get their own line on the Stats tab: how many there were, and what share of your casts they make up. They never count against your catch rate. A cast that never had a chance shouldn't make you look bad in front of the other goblins.

A new World tab, starting with Patiently Rewarded.

The Patiently Rewarded alert packed up and moved to its own home: the new World tab. When the buff lands, your screen edges glow gold, SBF tells you a chest has spawned, and your chosen sound plays. It's on by default; switch it off on the World tab any time. Pick the glow color and a sound (the sound stays off until you choose one), and hit Test to see and hear it before it counts. The World tab is where expansion, season, and zone watches will live from now on. Patiently Rewarded just got there first.

    Count your Venom.

Fishing with The Coiled Huntress? Every catch on the Coiled Isle siphons Venom into the pole, and SBF now shows your total right in the window header, next to your skill and perception, in a suitably poisonous green. Type /sbf venom for the count, what you've gained this session, and your Coiled Filament.

    Your pole, your call.

The pole in your profile's Fishing pole box is the only pole SBF ever puts on, and a gear set never sneaks a different one in. Leave the box empty and SBF fills it for you: first with the pole saved in your profile's gear set, and on retail with the pole in your fishing tool slot. Clear the box yourself and it stays clear. On Forever, if there's no pole to be found, SBF tells you once and leaves your hands alone. Got two poles? Make a profile for each.

    Punching without a punch button.

Forever has no Single-Button Assistant, so SBF's default combat action falls back to plain auto-attack. When something decides you look like lunch, your key still swings back. Drag in your own macro any time for real abilities.

The Equipment Manager button works in Forever.

One click opens your character sheet straight to the Equipment Manager tab, ready to edit your fishing set.

Gear sets with a missing piece no longer stall.

Sold your lucky hat to a vendor? Left your boots in the bank? SBF used to keep trying to put the whole set on and never got around to fishing. Now it equips everything you still have, tells you once which set is short, and gets on with it. Fixed on retail and Forever alike. The hat is still gone, though. We checked.

  6. HAUL2026.09.30.22026-09-30

Haul now runs on WoW: Forever, and pausing is more reliable.

    • WoW: Forever support. Haul now loads and tracks loot, gold per hour and pricing on the Forever client.
    • Fish count as fish on Forever. Forever uses the older ranked Fishing spells. Haul now recognizes all of them, so your catches are logged as fish instead of being mistaken for chest loot.
    • Fixed: loot could stop counting after a pause. If you combined saved sessions while tracking was paused, everything you looted after pressing Resume was left out of your haul. Resume now always picks tracking back up. If the affected session is still open, it counts correctly once you save it; sessions you already saved keep their old totals.
    • Fixed: combining could leave out part of a session. If you combined a session that you had earlier resumed or merged another run into, the combined total left out the run folded into it. New combines now count everything.

Known issue on the Forever beta: the beta client currently doesn't load saved addon data between sessions, so Haul's saved sessions and settings reset each time you launch. This is a beta client issue, and Haul will keep your data once it's fixed.

Nothing else changes on retail. Tracking, pricing, and sessions work exactly as before.

  7. SBF2026.09.06.22026-09-06

Buff learning can no longer be fooled by combat.

The first bug report sent through the new in-game reporter (thank you, whoever you are!) uncovered a nasty one. When you enter or leave combat, the game briefly hides buff names, and SBF's buff learner could mistake a permanent equipment buff reappearing for the buff your chum fish just applied. Once that wrong learn stuck, the chum slot thought its buff was always up and simply stopped throwing fish, forever, with no error. Two fixes make this impossible now: the learner never compares buff snapshots across a combat change, and a thrown item can never learn a permanent buff at all (a real chum, food, or lure buff always has a timer; a buff with no timer is your gear talking). Both guards work on every item, including ones we have never seen.

Seven chum fish are now built in.

Five new fish joined the built-in catalog with verified buffs, so they work correctly on the first throw and can never mis-learn: Lynxfish, Gore Guppy, and Toxic Tlhapi (Skillful Chum), plus Arcane Wyrmfish and Spotted Killifish (Perceptive Chum). That covers the Coiled Isle catches alongside the Quel'Thalas ones from before. If your Toxic Tlhapi was stuck from the bug above, this release un-sticks it automatically.

    New: the zone buff glow.

When a special area blessing that boosts fishing is on your character, the edges of your screen now glow a soft green so you know you are standing somewhere worth fishing. It ships watching Cursed Land and Waters, the Coiled Isle blessing behind Captain Tokka's reputation arc (it appears after Turning Back the Surges). The first time it lights up, SBF tells you on screen what the glow means. It never blocks your mouse or covers the middle of the screen, and it can be turned off in Settings under Fishing behavior.

Bug reports got easier to read.

The catalog section of the in-game bug report now shows item names instead of bare ID numbers, and labels each line so it is obvious whether the entry involves a built-in item or one SBF learned on its own.

  8. HAUL2026.09.03.12026-09-04

A performance pass, a bug-report button, and a spot in the AddOns menu.

    • Haul now idles quietly. We did a performance pass on the live window. Before this, the window redid all of its work every second whether or not anything had changed: it replayed the whole session twice, re-priced every item, and re-laid out every row in the list, even while tracking was paused. Now a paused window does nothing but keep its buttons in sync, and a running window only refreshes the timer and per-hour figures each second, rebuilding the list only when something new lands. Every refresh also does half the work it used to. If Haul was showing up in your CPU usage on long farm sessions, this is the fix.
    • Report a bug, in one click. There is a new "Report a bug" button at the top of the About tab (also /haul bug followed by a short description). It opens a copyable summary of your setup: versions, price source, the settings that affect tracking, how much the current session has captured, and where you are as the new-session triggers see it. Paste it into your report and we can usually reproduce the problem without a back-and-forth. Your character name, realm, guild, and your loot are never included.
    • Haul is listed in the AddOns menu. Click the AddOns button on the minimap and Haul is there; one click opens the window.

Tracking, pricing, and sessions are unchanged.

  9. SBF2026.09.03.62026-09-04

SBF now gets out of the way when you stop fishing.

New in Settings under Fishing behavior: an Idle timeout (30 seconds by default). When you stop fishing for that long, SBF stands down completely: all of its background key and buff monitoring stops, and the addon's CPU use drops to roughly 0% until you fish again. Your first cast press wakes everything back up, instantly. If you use gear profiles, your normal gear and audio come back at that same moment, exactly like before; the timeout now covers everyone, gear profiles or not. This is a performance release as much as a feature: parked in town, SBF now costs the same as an addon that is not running at all.

Looting cannot silently die anymore, in either mode.

SBF's looting rides the game's own interact key. If the client option "Enable interact key" (Options, Gameplay, Controls) is off, looting just quietly does nothing: no error, the key does not respond, and it looks like SBF is broken. Some of you found the accidental workaround of turning on two-button mode, which happened to flip that option back on. Now SBF keeps the option enabled itself whenever looting works through interact, in single-button AND two-button mode, and re-checks it on every cast so a mid-session change cannot strand you. If SBF has to turn it back on, it tells you in chat.

    Settings clarity.

    • "Get out of the way in combat" is now "Hide interface in combat", which says what it does.
    • The idle seconds field moved out of Profile advanced mode into Fishing behavior, since it is no longer a gear-only setting. The gear checkbox stays where it was and simply rides the shared timeout.
    • The labeled rows in Fishing behavior now match the size and alignment of the checkbox text around them.

    Thank you.

This release exists because players took the time to report what they were seeing: bayerithe99706, Murphieus, joesonline, and Delphinen all sent in issues that pointed us straight at the problems above. If we did this right, every one of them is fixed for you now.

Found something else? Want a say in what gets built next? Head to https://goblineng.co to report bugs and vote on upcoming features, or use the one-click bug report on the About tab (it builds a paste-ready blob, and it is exactly how these issues got found). The votes genuinely steer the roadmap.

  10. SBF2026.09.02.42026-09-03

Every edit in the options window sticks now.

Last release fixed the on/off switch writing to a dead copy of your settings after an automatic profile swap. This release fixes the same disconnect everywhere else on the row, because it turned out the switch was not the only victim:

    • Items you add, remove or reorder in a slot picker stay added, removed and reordered, including when a profile swap happens mid-session with the window open. Before this, an edit could look fine on screen, never reach the addon, and be gone after a reload.
    • The firing mode button and the buff-to-watch box write to your live profile the same way now.
    • Your selected items show their zone info again. The orange "not confirmed in this zone" tint, the list of zones an item has worked in, and the works-in-all-zones toggle were only appearing on items you had NOT picked. They now show on the items you actually fish with, which is where they matter.

Hiding items is reversible, like the tooltip always said.

    • Hiding a learned item from a picker used to also delete the record that would let "Show hidden items" bring it back, so the promised way back did not exist. It does now.
    • There is a "Restore all hidden" button in Settings next to "Show hidden items", for when you want everything back without clicking each one.
    • The item tooltip claimed shift-click did two different things. It does one thing: hide. The tooltip says so.

Boats: SBF will never cast a spell your character does not know.

If you share one profile across characters, the boat slot can hold Levitate, Path of Frost, Water Walking and Zen Flight side by side. Each character is supposed to use the ones it knows and skip the rest. One path through the code skipped that check and fired whatever was loaded, so a monk could sit there trying to cast a priest spell forever instead of using its own. Every cast now goes through the same "do you actually know this?" gate, on every character, in every mode.

    Non-English clients: the follow-through.

Last release made SBF work off English. This one finishes the corners we found while checking everything else:

    • A cast that misses fishable water is now detected on every language: the short back-off, the fail sound, and the log entry all fire. Off English these were silently doing nothing, so a whole class of cast results was missing from your Stats.
    • The Perception stat reads correctly instead of showing 0.
    • Pole enchant time-left reads correctly on Russian, Korean and Chinese clients. Before this the timer never matched, SBF thought the enchant was always expired, and it would burn roughly three lures per fishing cycle re-applying one that was fine.

    Small but real.

    • Building a status report, or having a Haul bar show SBF's next action, no longer nudges the addon itself. Reading is reading now; before, just drawing a bar could quietly consume a chum burst or start a boat sequence.
    • A cast you reeled in normally could occasionally be logged as "nothing happened" because the key watcher blinked at the wrong instant. It waits for real evidence now.
    • Status reports now include the combat and heal slots, which were missing entirely.
    • Pressing Backspace in the bug report window no longer erases the report you were about to copy.
  11. SBF2026.09.01.12026-09-01

If you do not play in English, this is the release that makes SBF work.

Huge thanks to Fisu, who found and reported both of the bugs below with the exact cause already tracked down. They had been in SBF since the beginning, and they were invisible to us because everything works fine on an English client. That is a rough way to meet an addon, and the report was better than most bug reports we write ourselves.

    • The fishing key now casts on every language. The built-in "Cast Fishing" action was hard-coded to the English spell name. On a German, French, Spanish or any other non-English client that name does not exist, and a macro pointing at a spell that does not exist fails without saying anything. So a fresh install did nothing at all when you pressed the key. SBF now looks the spell up properly, in whatever your client calls it.
    • Catches, casts and stats are recorded again. SBF worked out whether you were fishing by checking the spell name and one specific spell ID. Neither matched on Fisu's client, so SBF never noticed the fishing line was out. Fishing worked, fish were caught, and the Stats tab sat at zero. It now recognizes the cast by reading your own fishing spellbook instead of assuming.
    • Fighting back works on every language too. The built-in combat action had the same problem as the fishing key: it named the assist spell in English, so on any other client it quietly cast nothing while SBF carried on as if it had. If you fish somewhere things attack you, this is the one you will notice.
    • Food, drink and boat buffs are tracked correctly on non-English clients too. Same root cause in two more places, found while checking whether anything else made the same assumption.

If you reported odd behavior before and gave up, please try again.

Slots that are switched off now stay off.

    • Turning a slot off works, and keeps working. Two separate faults could let a slot you had switched off keep firing. One left the slot's own key connected. The other could quietly disconnect the options window from your live profile after an automatic profile swap, so the switch you flipped was writing somewhere nothing read. The window agreed with you while the addon carried on regardless.
    • Edits stick. The same disconnect could throw away a change you had just made, with no error and nothing to see.

    The loot key.

    • Fixed a loot key that stopped working after an update. A one-time upgrade step could remove your loot key binding while moving it, leaving you with nothing bound and no message about it. It now checks the move succeeded before removing anything, and tells you at login if no key can reach Interact.
    • Fixed two other ways the loot key could go dead and never recover on its own, including one that could freeze it for the rest of the session.

Chum, and items the game has changed.

    • The Midnight chums are corrected. Blizzard removed the use effect from Shimmer Spinefish, Tender Lumifin and Hollow Grouper. SBF was still treating them as chum, reporting them as thrown while nothing happened. They are out, and Sin'dorei Swarmer and Root Crab now track the right buffs.
    • An item that can no longer be used is skipped instead of being thrown over and over, so one dead item cannot stall your rotation.
    • Hide items you never want offered. Shift and left-click any item in a slot picker to hide it. Turn on "Show hidden items" in Settings to bring them back.

New: telling us when something goes wrong.

    • Report a bug. There is a button at the top of the About page. It opens a window with a summary of your setup that you can copy straight into a report: versions, settings, what is in each slot and which item would fire next, and anything that went wrong during the session. It contains no character name, realm or guild.
    • On a non-English client it also includes your language and fishing spell details, so the next report like Fisu's can be answered without a round of questions.

New: the AddOns button and the minimap.

    • SBF now appears in the game's AddOns menu on the minimap, where it should have been all along. Haul, Megaphone, Gadgets and Coffer are in there now too.
    • You can hide the minimap button. Settings, Minimap, "Hide the minimap button". You can still open SBF with /sbf or from the AddOns menu, and right-clicking SBF there puts the button back.
  12. HAUL2026.08.17.12026-08-18

Updated for World of Warcraft 12.1, Curse of Ula'tek.

    • Marked compatible with 12.1, so the client stops flagging Haul as out of date.
    • Picks up the shared-library fix behind the Lua errors some people saw in combat. If you use Haul's fishing-perception field alongside Single-Button Fishing, update both — the error was reported through Haul but came from SBF.

No changes to tracking, pricing, or sessions.

  13. SBF2026.08.17.22026-08-18

Updated for World of Warcraft 12.1, Curse of Ula'tek.

Patch 12.1 changed the rules for how addons read your buffs, and SBF's buff checks hadn't caught up. The result was a stream of Lua errors any time the game hides buff information.

    • Fixed the error spam. SBF now steps back cleanly when the game hides buff data instead of throwing an error at you several times a second.
    • Fixed the fishing-perception readout, which hit the same wall and could surface the error through Haul's perception field as well.
    • Marked compatible with 12.1, so the client stops flagging SBF as out of date.

    Fishing itself is unchanged.

  14. SBF2026.08.04.82026-08-05

A lot of bug fixes in this one. Most of them only bite in specific situations, so you may never have hit them, but if you did they were annoying. There are some quality of life improvements in here too, mostly around the fishing log telling you what actually happened.

    Better cast outcome tracking

Casts used to fall into "interrupt" or "unknown" far more often than they should have, which made those counts fairly useless. Outcomes are now sorted properly, so the log tells you exactly what happened on every cast.

    • Added NOTHING. You reeled properly and on time, the line just came up empty. That used to land in interrupt/unknown along with everything else.
    • Pressing Escape now registers as an escape. It also used to show up as interrupt/unknown, which is why that number was never worth much.
    • Improved catch logging. A catch is captured the moment the loot window opens, so recasting quickly no longer loses it.
    • Improved chest logging. The Patiently Rewarded Chest and the Grandline Chest are tracked by their own IDs and register in the log properly, including when your bags are full and the loot window has to reopen.
    • Improved loot kind detection generally, so what lands in the log is what actually happened.

Fixed: non fishing loot logged as gathered

Loot that had nothing to do with fishing, herb nodes, mining and chests you opened on your own, was being logged as gathered in the fishing journal. It skewed catch rates and it was never meant to be there. Corrected.

    Fixed: windows locked during combat

The Welcome screen and the configuration windows could get stuck while you were in combat, and you could not close or move them. They now get out of your way on their own when combat starts and come back when it ends. It is a setting, so you can have them collapse, hide completely, or stay put if you would rather they did not move.

    Improved buff handling

Buffs could get cross identified between items, so one item would end up watching another item's buff and the rotation would act on the wrong thing. Items now hold onto their own buff identity and cannot take one from a neighbor.

Fixed: gear switching on its own

In a specific set of circumstances your gear would swap itself back to fishing gear when it should have left it alone. Fixed.

Fixed: controller support turning itself off

A controller setting was being changed when it should not have been. This should also make SBF behave better alongside other controller addons.

Skill numbers fill themselves in now

The game does not hand an addon your per expansion fishing skill until you have opened the Fishing Journal yourself at least once. Until that happens SBF has nothing to read, so the skill numbers sit there empty and it looks broken.

Refresh skill on cast takes care of it. The first time you press your fishing key in a session, SBF flashes the journal open and shut, grabs the numbers and carries on casting. You see a blink and nothing else. It only does this once per session, only when the data is actually missing, and never in combat.

It is on by default and you can turn it off from either the Settings page or the Skill Book page, whichever one you happen to be looking at.

    Polish

    • Tooltips follow your cursor and read the same everywhere.
    • A simpler Welcome screen.
    • The Stats page no longer shows empty boxes where a character should be. A couple of symbols were outside the range the game font covers.
    • Help text pointed at a few slash commands that do not exist. Those are gone, and the sound folder note now tells you where the setting actually lives.
    • The Combat slot describes what it really does. It casts Single-Button Assistant at whatever you are already fighting, and picking up the nearest enemy is opt in.
    • The idle gear restore help said the feature was off by default. It is on.
    • SBF now shows up as "Single-Button Fishing" in your addon list instead of "SBF".

Happy fishing, and may every cast come up worth something.

  15. HAUL2026.08.04.12026-08-05

Haul used to be a loot tracker. It now tracks the whole run, and it hands you the entire vocabulary to display it.

Experience, currencies, kills, reputation, skill-ups and mail are all first-class citizens. Each one had a number before. Now each one has a full set of words: a running total, a per-hour rate, your best single source, and the last one you picked up, all as template tokens you drop straight onto the header bar. 58 new tokens in this release.

    How the tokens read

Once you know the pattern you can guess almost any token without looking it up. Every category speaks the same four words.

    You wantYou typeYou get
    the running total{xp}everything this session
the rate{xp.perhour}how fast it is coming in
your best source{xp.top}the single biggest contributor, named
the most recent one{xp.last}what just happened

Swap xp for currency, kills, rep, skill or mail and the same four work. Add .name, .amount or .count to any .top or .last to pull just that piece out instead of the whole formatted phrase, so {kills.top} gives you "Wretched Hooligan x47" while {kills.top.name} gives you just the name.

Money tokens take .short for the top unit only, or .full for gold silver copper. Bare is short. Any token takes a color: {haul:gold}, {kills:red}, or a hex code if you are particular. And {br} starts a new line, with the bar growing to fit.

    Everything new in this release

    Experience (green) {xp.perhour} {xp.top} {xp.top.name} {xp.top.count} {xp.top.amount} {xp.top.category} {xp.top.category.name} {xp.top.category.amount} the biggest source TYPE, e.g. "Kills +4,433" {xp.last} {xp.last.name} {xp.last.count} {xp.last.amount} {xp.last.source}

    Currency (blue) {currency.name} {currency.perhour} {currency.top} {currency.detail} {currency.last} {currency.last.name} {currency.last.count} {currency.last.amount}

    Kills (red) {kills.perhour} {kills.top} {kills.top.name} {kills.top.count} {kills.last} {kills.last.name} {kills.last.count}

    Reputation (pink) {rep.perhour} {rep.last} {rep.last.name} {rep.last.count} {rep.last.amount}

    Skill-ups (lilac) {skill} {skill.perhour} {skill.top} {skill.top.name} {skill.top.count} {skill.top.amount} {skill.last} {skill.last.name} {skill.last.count} {skill.last.amount} {skill.last.level}

    Mail (gold) {mail.gold} {mail.perhour} {gold.perhour} {mail.last} {mail.last.value} {mail.last.gold} {mail.last.item}

The last thing of any kind at all {last.kind} {last.name} {last.count} {last.amount} {last.source} {last.value} {last.perhour} Whatever you picked up most recently, whichever category it belonged to. Put {last} on the bar and it narrates your run.

    Already there, and still there

    {haul} {total} {loot} {cash} {gross} {perhour} {gross.perhour} {xp} {currency} {kills} {rep} {rep.amount} {rep.faction} {rep.top} {rep.detail} {mail} {last} {items.count} {items.value} {items.notable} {items.notable.label} {items.last} {items.last.name} {items.last.count} {items.last.value} {time} {time.current} {time.current.ampm} {time.ig} {time.timer} {zone} {zone.full} {zone.region} {zone.zone} {zone.sub} {token} {token.percent} {token.price} {token.trend} {token.value} {source} {flushed}

    Also new

One color scheme, everywhere. Each category now wears the same color wherever it shows up: the log, the header tokens, and your Gadgets bars all agree. Experience green, kills red, currency blue, reputation pink, skill-ups lilac, coin and mail gold. Set it once and stop thinking about it.

Tooltips worth reading. They follow your cursor now, and every single one carries the full token reference, so you can look up what goes on the bar without alt-tabbing to a wiki.

WoW Token trend. The token watch keeps a rolling price history and shows you where the price has been, not just where it is.

Fixed: runs that got thrown away

A session only counted as worth keeping if it had loot or a change in your gold. Which meant a battleground hour, a dungeon you auto-vendored your way through, a crafting session, or a mailbox stuffed with auction gold all told you there was "nothing to save" and got dropped on the floor.

If Haul recorded it, Haul banks it. There is a tab for it, so it counts.

Fixed: loot landing on the wrong character

Swap characters in a way the game does not report as a fresh login and your old session stayed open, quietly crediting the new character's loot to the old one. Sessions no longer cross characters, ever. Deliberately resuming a saved run on an alt still works and gets credited to whoever picked it up.

Fixed: sessions that quietly stopped counting

With "reload before new session" turned on, changing zones could leave you with no live session at all. Everything you looted from that point on went nowhere. Zone changes now always start a fresh run and flag the sync for the next time you press Save.

    Fixed: vendor-priced items worth nothing

If you looted something before your client had it cached, Haul priced it at zero. Worse, the zero stuck, to the session and to your saved history, so a good run could go into the books looking like a bad one.

Every place that prices an item now waits for the item to actually load first. And the zeros already sitting in your history get repaired automatically the next time you log in, so old runs finally read what they were worth.

Fixed: items you bought counted as loot

Combine two saved runs and everything you had purchased at a merchant got valued as if you had looted it. Restock a stack of reagents mid-farm and the combined run came out worth considerably more than it earned. Flattering. Also fiction.

Purchases stay in the vendor ledger where they belong and never inflate a combined run.

    Fixed: experience counted twice

Quest experience was landing in the quest bucket and the catch-all bucket at the same time, inflating your total. That is corrected, XP now survives a lagging experience bar, and the XP you pick up for walking into a new zone is labeled as discovery instead of guessed at.

Fixed: the Save button that would not save

The reload Save fires was being refused by the game outright. It runs through a path the client accepts now, so pressing Save actually syncs.

Fixed: loot wearing the wrong label

Fish caught mid-cast are tagged as fish every time. Chests you crack open are no longer tagged as fish, which they never were. The real object you looted is captured instead of inferred. And two of the instant-open fishing chests are now recognized by name.

Fixed: exclusions that did not stick

Items you excluded from your gold under an older version never wrote the marker that keeps them excluded, so the exclusion could quietly wander off. Those are backfilled now.

    Lighter the longer you farm

Every single thing you picked up used to trigger a full rebuild of the session, so a four-hour run cost more frames than a four-minute one, and it was worst exactly when you could least afford it, mid-pull. Updates are batched now. The bar stops charging you rent.

    Polish

    • Quest turn-ins arrive as one batch instead of a scatter of unrelated entries, so the "last" tokens show you the whole handful.
    • The empty Saved Sessions panel told you to press Save. Save syncs to disk and has never created a saved session. New is the button that banks a run, and the panel says so.
    • The "Auto reload every" option could never reload on its own, because the game only permits a reload from your own click. It is labeled as the reminder it always was.
    • The readme named a Reset button that does not exist.
    • The Great Vault readout is gone, and the theme picker moved somewhere less in the way.

Happy hauling, and may your gold per hour survive contact with the truth.

Shared data-library update (GECStore 27). Session records now exclude anything that happens inside a pause window from session totals — keeping SBF's records in lockstep with Haul and the website. No SBF-specific behavior changes.

  18. HAUL2026.07.26.12026-07-26

Pause now truly pauses. Anything you pick up while the session is paused — a mail run, a vendor stop, a quick trade — is still captured in the log, but no longer counts toward the session's totals or gold-per-hour. Resume, and counting picks right back up. A future update will add pause editing, so you'll be able to move a pause window after the fact and reclaim anything that should have counted.

Also ships GECStore 27, the shared data-library update carrying this rule into session records and sync.

  19. HAUL2026.07.25.32026-07-26

Paused sessions close cleanly now. Logging out — or crashing — while a session was paused used to leave the pause open, which could make that session's active time read wrong on the Data page and in your stats. The session now records the resume at the instant it closes, so active time is always honest.

Ships the shared data-library update (GECStore 26) that hardens session records for all GEC addons.

  20. SBF2026.07.25.32026-07-26

Session time stays accurate on a messy exit. If you logged out — or the game closed — while your fishing session was paused, the pause could be left hanging and skew that session's recorded time. Sessions now seal the pause the moment they close, so time fished is always right, even across a crash.

Ships the shared data-library update (GECStore 26) that hardens session records for all GEC addons.
